Duikersdrift Winelands Country Escape in Tulbagh

Four self-catering cottages each have a kitchenette, smart TV, free Wi-Fi, air conditioning, a ceiling fan, and an open-plan bathroom with a rain shower and bathtub. Each cottage offers a private patio with a braai facility and a wood-fired hot tub. A battery backup system keeps the lights on during load shedding. The family cottage includes two single beds in addition to the king-size bed. Some cottages also have a fireplace.

The on-site Daphne's Bistro serves authentic Italian dishes such as pasta and pizza, made with fresh ingredients. It is open Wednesday through Sunday. For breakfast, guests can order a basket delivered to their cottage each morning. The basket includes fruit, yogurt, muesli, ciabatta, ham, quiche, jam, milk, and juice, and costs R350 per couple.

The property has a secluded outdoor swimming pool with mountain views, pool loungers, and a shallow end. Each cottage has a private wood-fired hot tub. Guests can explore walking trails, fish in the dam, mountain bike, or bird watch. There is also a children's playground and farm animals like donkeys and horses for kids to interact with. On-site wine tasting and olive oil tasting are available.

Duikersdrift is located on a working wine and olive farm in the Tulbagh Valley, about 90 minutes from Cape Town. It is a 10-minute drive to Tulbagh town, which features historical landmarks like the oldest functioning church on Church Street. Nearby attractions include Rhode's Memorial, Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens, Ceres Adventure Company zip-line tours, and multiple wine farms like Montpellier, Saronsberg, and Swanepoel. The Oakhurst olive tasting is also nearby.

Owners Justin and Kim provide a warm welcome, luggage storage, and private check-in/check-out. Daily housekeeping, ironing, and laundry services are available. The property offers free parking, a safety deposit box, and key access. For families, there are board games, a children's playground, and a cot available on request. The front desk can arrange bicycle rental and private drivers. CCTV and fire extinguishers ensure safety.
